Q. after watching too much MTV “Super Sweet Sixteen”!
Hi all,
Yep, I have gotten sucked in to watching all those back-back episodes of My Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV. My question is this — are they using the Sapphire glint plug-in to do all those sparkle effects (not just twinkle in the smile or eye, but all around various objects to set them off, etc.) or are they doing something else? I don’t think they rotate, but they do have sparkle, so to speak. Just wondering… thanks for any answers!

Hahaha, what a bizarre coincidence! I had a colleague suggest I check out that show for the same reason. It looks like they use a combination of particles (the floaty pink sparkles) and the occasional glint from an onscreen object. Most glint-type filters are based on a simple threshold, which doesn’t make it too selective. Motion’s Dazzle filter does the same. I would guess that they mask the glint’s input (or output) to restrict it to certain items of the producers’ choosing.
