How to improve or provide natural silent in an interview?
Hello All,
I am interviewing low income people about their difficult situations. I take the interviews and cut them into a narrative format, where they are the only voice heard (no interviewer). The way the cutting works out, sometimes I need some more time between the next comment from the interviewee.
In order to accomplish this, I’ve been cutting in other silences from the conversation, but sometimes just a little breath can create a strange audio effect when repeated 2 or 3 times.
Can you help me, or point me to a tutorial that will help? Thank you..

you can use effect-auto-heal from spectral frequency to smooth transition stuff out highlighting with the marque tool.
also, there’s actually a noise removing preset called sound remover “Ahhh,ummmm”

Record room tone at the time of the interview. A minute or 30″ of silence in each interview set-up.
