  • how to remove tut noises in presentation?

    Hi there,

I have a presentation were the speaker is constantly making a tutting mouth slapping noise every 10 secs during his speech.

I was wandering if there is any way to remove this automatically in soundbooth?

There seems to be a function to “remove noise” however I dont think I am using it correctly or is not suited to what I need.

At the moment I have resorted the keyframe dropping the audio momentarily and then bringing it back up.

However the presentation is 15mins long

There must be a simpler way to to do this! 🙂

Any help would be much appreciated

    cheers

If the tut sound is happening somewhere where nothing else is happening, you could sample the tut sound as a noise floor, then remove that from the whole clip. This might effect the overall sound of the VO, especially if the tut sound is in the same part of the audio spectrum as the voice. However, if it’s a pretty percussive sound, you might get away with it. I don’t know exactly how it’s done in Audition, but I’ve done it in Soundbooth, so I know Audition has the capability to sample a noise, then remove it.
