  Adobe Audition 3 problem selecting spectral pan and phase

  The spectral pan and spectral phase buttons are both greyed out in my adobe audition 3, but the spectral frequency and waveform tabs are coloured. How do I make the spectral pan and phase tabs active in auditon?
