  Clipping

  To get my feet wet in audition I am trying to improve upon some Opera Recordings – ambitious I know. When using the multiband compressor I see much clipping because of the full orchestra and the voice, especially a la tutti. With such variance in range can I use the dial to reliably unclip these peaks or should I use another technique.

  To be honest it’s hard to direct you without knowing what you are up against … There are a number of ways to work with clipping but without hearing it I am not sure which direction would be best for you … If you could E-mail me a minute or so I will listen and let you know via the forum what would be the best course of action for you to take … E-mail to loganonestudio@aol.com ……….
