  Red One Footage with CS6

  Editing a music video. This is my first project working with Red One Footage. I’ve edited the project in Premiere. A few shots need some work in After Effects.

  I love how I can edit the ‘look’ of the footage right from Premiere by using the ‘Source Settings’ command. My problem is that After Effects doesn’t seem to allow that.

  I’m trying to composite two shots together. I need their look to match, so I opened Source Settings for the first shot from Premiere, created a look, saved the preset, and then applied the preset to the 2nd shot. Looks great in Premiere, but when I look at the shots in After Effects, the RMD preset I created doesn’t seem to be applied. The shots still look ‘as shot.’

  Reload footage doesn’t change anything. Re-Importing the clip into After Effects doesn’t change anything either.

  Because the main outlet will be YouTube, I’ve set the AE working space to sRGB. By default, all of the Red footage says ‘Embedded Profile: None, Assign Profile: HDTV (Rec. 709)

  How do I get AE to use the RMD preset I’ve created?

  Lots of searching and lots of dead ends… I finally found the answer.

  Interpret Footage>More Options.
