Let’s say I have a project exported from C4D into AE at a size of 720×405.

I do some rough compositing (masking, using some particles, adding typography) at this size, to show the client.

The client gives me the go ahead, and I re-output the exact same 3D scene from C4D into AE, at a new size of 1920×1080 (same ratio).

Is there a way to simply “up-rez” or scale my AE scene to fit the newly resized C4D project? Will my mask’s edges be off/softer? Will comps within comps, and cameras be offset? Will my particles be screwed up?

Or do I simply have to rebuild my AE work from scratch at this new size?

    Thanks,

    Dean

File>Scripts>Scale Composition.jsx will get you to a certain point. But you might have to tweak a few things manually.

A good tip when wanting to work low res for a later high res out put is working on “perfect downscale” of the full-res. For 1920×1080 HD that would mean 960×540, 640×360 or 480×270. That makes it much easier up-resing.

But try the above suggestion and see where that takes you!
