  • CS6: timewarping a 3D track?

Posted by Mike Nielsen on August 1, 2012 at 10:58 am

    Hi Folks

I did a successful 3D track of some footage in CS6. I’d now like to use the timewarp plugin on the footage. Question is: How do I “remap” the tracked camera keyframes to stay in sync with the footage speed changes?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Either you Time Remap the course footage in a precomp, prior to camera tracking or you render the camera tracked movie and Time Remap the resultant movie.

Thanks, but neither is an option for this project.

Why not? Are you using a third-party time warping effect and don’t want to rasterize and warp your effects?

You could do your timewarp on the footage, then precomp the elements and duplicate the timewarping keyframes and curves in time remapping.

Yeah, guess I owe an explanation: I’m actually prepping a CS4 file for an agency. They hired me to build a few 3D models and the motion tracking. So; I need to deliver an editable file, that they can play with. I managed to copy the camera-keys to CS4, but I’d rather not leave them without a good quality timewarped footage (as opposed to time remapping in CS4). Hope that makes sense. Quite a unique problem, that I probably won’t see again, haha.
