  Photoshop files and pixulation

  Hi,

  For our latest animation we used an illustrator who works in Photoshop instead of Illustrator. I did do some tests before on a file he sent through, but now it seems when I zoom in, everything is pixulated.

  I knew there wasn’t a option for continually rasterising things, but I thought AE kept PS files at their optimum resolution whatever the size?

  OK, so after some digging I realise that PSD files, although they import all their attributes, for some unbeknown reason they are not Vectors and thus not treated to continuous raterisation!

  I understand you can bring files into Illustrator and convert them to Vectors. What is the simplest way of doing this?

  I know very little about Illustrator or Photoshop so hoping my designer knows a way. Could this be a way to go: https://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tools-tips/quick-tip-convert-photoshop-text-to-vector-for-use-in-illustrator/

  Photoshop (generally) thinks in pixels. It you need to zoom in and you’re not working with an illustrator who doesn’t actually use Illustrator (!), he needs to work at very high resolution in Photoshop for you to be able to zoom in.

  See above: Photoshop thinks in pixels. A 1920×1080 raster image cannot be scaled above 1920×1080 without interpolation and pixelation.
