  • Bug in after effects with key frames?

I’ve noticed this before, but this time thought I’d post.

I’ve got 4 keyframes. All easy ease. I want the two middle keyframes to be adjusted so that the camera slowly pans out (a little slower than the first two keyframes). This on a Null object camera rig.

So I adjust the Z position. This has the desired effect, but then I start getting movement on the Y postion. No other keyframes exist. I try deleting the third keyframe and pasting the 2nd keyframe in its place and then I start getting some weird movements on the Z position – the Z position shouldn’t move at all as i’ve just pasted the same value as the 2nd keyframe so between the 2nd and 3rd keyframe it should be still right?

Hmm, looked at the tutorial. Hold keyframes won’t work in this instance.

Basically, working in 3D, I am animating an object close to camera.

    3 keyframes.

Keyframes 1 & 2 – very slow pan out in z space (only animating z space)
    Keyframes 2 & 3 – very fast pan out in z space

The trouble I am getting is that whatever I try, inbetween keyframes 1 & 2 I am getting zooming IN before I get zooming out. Can’t hold keyframe as this won’t give me the effect I am after.

The X and Y co-ordinates are animating too although I have not asked them too.

It doesn’t matter if I use linear keyframes or not. Same effect.

    Hi,

OK will check out. The tutorial I found only mentioned hold keyframes, so will look further.

    Thank you!
