Perhaps the biggest reason is compatibility. Clip notes generated from Premiere Pro 2.0 can be opened up in the free and commonly used Adobe Acrobat Reader. Secondly, clip note comments can easily imported and exported via email. There is no need for complicated web servers or any other forms of media.
