Hi chaps hope you’re all well and that someone can please give me some advice.

This is a screen shot, top image is 100% crop of the AE comp window and the lower images is the same from a quicktime play-out window …as you cab see it’s soft.

The comp is set to HDTV 1080 25 Full res 25fps square pixels, continuous rasterise button is on.

Render is Quality best Res. Full (open GL) no motion blur or frame blending, Format QT Animation codec Quality 100%

hope I’ve covered everything … seems pretty poor to me – also the render was very fast (surprisingly).

    Any help very welcome.

    Best – Roger

You need to turn off Open GL. It causes nothing but trouble 🙂

OpenGL will down-res everything to fit into texture memory. Especially a problem for continuously rasterized or large layers. Never ever use OpenGL for final render and almost never for preview.

Thanks Perry and Darby … well I’ve never touched Open GL before but read somewhere that it helped speed up renders and clicked the button, what a dramatic difference ! – thanks for taking the time, what is the point of open GL then just for previews ?
