Color Grading not accurate from Premiere to After Effects
So I’m color grading in Premier 5.0 using fast color corrector and three way color corrector.
Then I’m opening that project in AE by: File>Import>Adobe Premiere Pro Project
When I’ve done that, my color grading from Premiere does not look the same in After Effects, any suggestions? The Premier image is on the right, on the left is how it looks once I import it to AE.

Are you using the same color space? Do you use color management?

It’s kind of a trick question — AE is color-managed, but Premiere Pro is not. You can therefore expect different on-screen results.
You can trust a calibrated external broadcast monitor with either app, or a good display that’s well-profiled with AE and color management.
Doug, if you’re interested in color management, I recommend Adobe’s color management white paper [link] as a good starting point in addition to the application-specific link Ted shared. This paper was written for CS4, but still applies to CS5.5.

i believe the easiest way is to simple turn off color management in AE but burn it in with AE’s utility color profile converter set to the the same as your color profile set for your monitor in your OS. That way, if you import it into Premiere, it works and if you import a non-color managed premiere into AE, it works. For example, most windows 7 defaults are sRGB 1966 or hdtv.709

I switched the 16bit, and used Colormatch for the workspace, problem solved! Thanks so much.
