  How to place a music player in a menu

  Hi guys,
  I’m currently running Adobe Encore CS 5. I’m creating a series of interactive menus and for one of them there are 4 songs as the content.

  Is there any way to embed a player?

  OR

  I have the music currently set playing in the background, is there any way to add a progress bar where they can skip around the song?

  any help is appreciated.

  DVD does not support embedding external software applications.

  Why not encode each song as a Dolby .ac3 audio stream and make an animated progress bar or other graphic for the picture. The viewer can skip forward or backward through the track using the standard DVD player controls.

  There are plenty of After Effects tutorials here on the Cow. You should be able to find something that will show you basic animation. It’s very easy to make a simple animated bar.

  If you don’t have AE, you can do the same thing in Photoshop. Animate in the timeline window.

  The music player progress bar graphic could be made in Adobe Titler, then placed on Premiere timeline and stretched to fit duration of the song. Apply the CROP effect to the title and add keyframes to animate CROP (right parameter). Start at fully cropped and end with no crop. This will simulate progress bar moving across from left to right.

  Of course, a background image or video can be used beneath, as well as additional text overlay. Just the progress bar gets the crop treatment.

  Yes, put the music and animation together in Premiere, then export as “MPEG-2 DVD” with the appropriate settings to meet your needs. Then Import Assets into Encore.
