  • Playback of Matrox .H264 Blu-ray files

Posted by Volodymyr Kashuba on March 5, 2012 at 8:32 pm

    Hello to all,
From Premiere I exported Matrox .H264 Blu-ray files for Blu-ray autoring using MXO2 Mini with MAX. I have all possible players instaled, and those files are not playeble. Files playback in Encore only. Do am I missing something.

Please suggest me how to play them and check them out before I import in to Encore.

    Thank you.

Why not drop them into Encore and try them there? They will actually play out through MXO2, what could be a better test?

Thank you Jeff. I do drop them into Encore and play them back like you said.

I just wondering why they are not playeble in any other players?

This may have changed but the last I heard Matrox’s stream were not compliant for BD. Not sure if this is your issue or not.

    Eric,

The post you referenced is 3 years old….

Funny that Matrox would be able to sell a product expressly for the creation of Blu-ray files if in fact it were not compliant. And if you read the original post, there is not an issue using the Matrox files in Encore, but rather playing them in other players.

    Volodymyr,

The files are MEANT to be put on a Blu-ray, they were never meant for any other means of distribution.

You might possibly change the file extension to something else and get them to play, I don’t know.

    Thanks

    Jeff

There are plenty of commercial encoders which aren’t compliant and even though the link is three years old, it’s updated by Netblender…. So the info I’m providing is not that old and it’s fairly well known.

Just throwing it out there. How’d you put it? ” I Don’t know”. ?
