  Blu-ray on 12 core macs with CS4 – how many processors?

  A month ago I tried rendering an encore blu-ray on a quad core mac into a lacie burner- after 16 hours I turned the thing off without result and the machine was still in render hell.

  Now I have a 12 core mac, 16 gig of ram – it’s fast but I hear that compressor will use all 12 cores but Encore will not (CS4)

  Apologies if these questions are dumb but I’m more familiar with DVD studio pro and I take nothing for granted….

  So if I used Compressor to first prepare the files

  a) what should the settings be in compressor to work for encore CS4 at Blu-ray level

  b) can I import these files direct into encore without any more transcoding

  c) should I get CS5 and be direct – assuming that CS5 has been written to use all processors?
