  • “edit menu in photoshop” isn’t working

Posted by Jason Brown on April 14, 2010 at 4:05 pm

I created a project on my MAC, sent it (THE ENTIRE PROJECT FOLDER) as delivery for duplication…and they keep having the photoshop -1 error trying to build an image file.

In my troubleshooting…I found that I can’t open ANY of the menus through the “edit menu in photoshop” selection. It doesn’t even launch Photoshop.

If I go into the Project folder, the photoshop files are there as assets and they look fine as you browse through the Encore project and look at the menu’s.

    Any ideas?

Is Photoshop still associated with .psd files? IOW, what happens when you double click a .psd file in Finder? I know how to fix that in Windows if PS isn’t the program that opens when you do that, but not a clue as to how to fix it on a Mac.

it’s a mac, file associations are fine. In the project folder, there is a >Sources>Menu folder…that folder contains many XMP files as well as several PSD files.

Sounds like you may have a corrupted menu/menus. Are you able to edit the menus in Encore (like adding button, layers etc..)? If you are using motion menus then re-rendering may fix your problem.

I was able to open the exact same project file on my machine…build the ISO and will provide that file to the client.

I can’t think of anything other than just copying the project folder again…hoping nothing is corrupt but I don’t think that is the issue, it seems to be a linking issue.
