  • Using Encore DVD 2.0 menus in Premiere 2.0

Posted by Polypixel on August 3, 2006 at 7:40 am

    Hello there!

i’m relatively new to DVD authoring stuff.
i’ve installed Trial Premiere Pro 2.0, so there are not any DVD menu presets installed (Templates list is empty in

DVD Layout menu) as it comes along with a bunch of them in full version.

So i’ve installed Encore 2.0 to make a simple menus by myself there and use them in Premiere 2.0 for authoring DVD pursposes

But i dont know how to export (and where to locate in Premiere ) files prepeared in Encore..

ive searched in help file a lot, but with no luck..

any little help is very appreciated..
    Thank You alot.

The Premiere Pro trial doesn’t write DVDs.

You can use the Encore trial (or Encore itself), but you construct the DVD project from within Encore. So your workflow would be:

    1. Capture video in Premiere
    2. Edit video in Premiere
    3. Export Premiere sequence to AVI
    4. Import AVI into Encore
    5. Create DVD project in Encore with menus, etc.

    Hope it helps,
    Joe

    Oh, and of course:

    6. Burn DVD from Encore

Oh thanks a lot for suggestions, I’ll definitely give a try..

but isnt there a way, to import a menu from Encore, and make authooring stuff in Premiere itself ?

Not sure about this, but I think you can only use the menus provided in Premiere if you are exporting to DVD from there.

That said, as I mentioned earlier, the trial version of Premiere cannot export to DVD.
