  • Can Encore write a DDP file to hard disk?

Posted by Doug Jacobson on February 11, 2006 at 3:34 am

I’ve authored a disc that will be replicated. I’d like to add CSS protection but I don’t have a DLT. I’ve read on the Cow DVD Authoring forum that DVD Studio Pro can write DDP files (with the appropriate CSS flags set) to hard disk. You can then burn the DDP files to a DVD-R (provided there is enough room on the disk) as data files and send that to a replication house.

Does anyone know if Encore can do this (I’m using 1.5 currenlty), and if not does anyone have a workaround?.

    Thanks in advance,
    Doug

Encore can’t do it. Gear Pro for Mastering can do it, though.

Do you know if I can use Gear Pro for Mastering to add CSS to my finished Encore project?

    Thanks,
    Doug

Not sure, usually you would do that from Encore.
