Activity Forums Adobe After Effects distort path in AE

    Hi!

    Im looking for a way of doing this with a shape of a star:
    i been playing around with the distortion effects but i haven’t got the result i want.

    any input would be great!

    Just to add to Roland’s good suggestion to use Displacement Maps;

    To make the star, to use as a displacement map, create a solid layer and then use the Star Mask tool to create a feathered mask. Precompose this and use it as your displacement map. to create the stripes I’d suggest using the Venetian Blinds transition effect on a yellow solid, though there are always dozens of ways to “skin a cat” in After Effects.
