  A light to only cast shadows ?

  I have a comp.
  With multiple lights

  I want a object to have the light from 1 light
  But the shadow from the other

  Is there a way to let a light only cast shadows, not light?
  Because in the material objects in the Object, it responds offcourse to all the lights in the comp.

  I think you’ll have to trick your way around it with the layers rather than the light. Maybe duplicating with one to not receive lights and another to cast shadow only. Maybe using.. can’t remember the right name now, when you turn on the adjustment layer switch on a light

  I did a quick sample for you in the project below. The trick is to duplicate your source and change the bottom copy only have shadows. Have a light set to make its shadow where you want it.

  Then on the top copy, shine another light that doesn’t cast shadows. Then parent the bottom copy to the top (I think I forgot to do that).

  Wow. thank you so much.
  this is it.
  Although i thought that there would be a much easier solution because lights can only beam light . and objects can only cast shadows and so on. But, there IS a solution. so thats good.
