Hey Folks: I recorded on SxS cards and one of my clips extended from the end of Card 1 to the beginning of Card 2. Not realizing I had a clip that spanned two cards, I just used XDCAM Transfer to export out mov clips and then reformatted Card 2. Only now do I see that I’m missing that clip that spanned the two cards…Ouch.

    First question

In XDCAM Transfer, I see the first few minutes of my clip from Card 1, the card that wasn’t reformatted. So I’m wondering if there’s a way to at least get that piece of the clip off my card without Card 2.

    Second question
Seems that some folks advise using Disk Doctor Photo Recovery to recover lost data. Will that recover a BPAV folder or just video files within the folder? It seems that unless I can recover the BPAV folder, I won’t have a way to merge my clip from Card 1…

Lesson learned: make one of your backups a copy of intact folders OR make darn sure, if you choose to to export out, you got all your clips accounted for!
