  Alternative batteries and battery chargers for Sony EX1/EX3

  Looking to get another few batteries and charger for my Sony EX1, saw a few ‘non-Sony’ BP-U30 and BP-U60 batteries online, most in the $60-150 range. Anyone have any names or brands to avoid, and ones that worked just as well or didn’t break the bank?

  probably depends where you are – i got sme off ebay from a LOCAL source, though of course they were made in china. i’ve heard good things about https://www.betterbatt.com.au/

  i’m not worried about using unbranded batteries as long as they’re from a local source so i sue them;-)

  I’ve been using this battery from Switronix for several years with my EX1 and EX3 and it’s been great. When new, they ran around 7 hours even with an LED light plugged into it. Of course, they have slowly declined but I still am getting almost 6 hours. I have 4 of them. The downside of the battery is that it has to be plugged into the dc port with a small cable but no big deal for me.
