  AE 6.5 won’t import Premiere Pro Projects

  This has been going on since I installed Edius 2.5 a few days ago to try it out. I have since uninstalled Edius 2.5.

  When I try to import a .prproj file, AE just hangs, and will hang for as long as I let it. Eventually i have to open up task manager and end the process (which is taking up 50% of the CPU and more than half the memory). These are the steps I’ve taken to troubleshoot so far:

  1. I thought maybe it was just one corrupt .prproj file, so i rebooted, tried a different one and got the same results.
  (reboot)
  2. As stated above, I then uninstalled Edius.
  (reboot)
  3. Deleted the AE pref files.
  (reboot)
  4. deleted and fresh installed all the canopus drivers
  (reboot)
  5. deleted After Effects and all the plugins. Fresh installed After Effects.
  (reboot)
  6. updated to 6.5.1
  (reboot)
  7. Loaded my 12 gauge, took aim and in a moment of clarity remembered that I’d dumped a ton of money into this POS.

  After all this, I still cannot import any pro project files. It will import the individual footage files just fine, but that doesn’t help me much.

  Any thoughts?
