  Moire removal? Any tricks suggested in PP or AE, CineForm?

  I shot Doyle Dykes footage at Fender’s booth during NAMM, (moved from Taylor to Guild endorser).

  The captures are h.264, transcoded to CineForm “I” frames only.

  Did some color corrections, etc (stage lights, backdrop in the red/orange was too overkill).

  The results look pretty good, and differ form the You Tuber’s versions already up as being more filmic at 23.97/24FPS, which is fine.

  What I’m asking about, is the striation AKA moire and how best to reduce it. These appear during lens movement of course and are static but visible on the cloth faces of the back-line amps when lens is stationary, and, one song where he removes his jacket and the shirt is monotone but muted with fabric stripes.

  Would it help to transcode with IPB frames?

  I’ve seen “use” Gaussian Blur, but that application reduces sharpness of the players image once activated, so use sparingly, OK but still not satisfied.

  Does anyone, have a link availed to address this type of remedial fix?

  I assume, one can isolate the performer with rotoscope and do the layer by layer approach but any advice will be appreciated regardless.

  neat video supports low,medium, and high frequency adaptive blurring.

  I’ve used Remove Grain with garbage masks to remove moire.
