    Hello, can anyone help me out, when am done recording my clips on my ex1r, and i transfer the clips via usb to my computer, for some reason final cut pro doesn’t recognize the file format and also when i try to import my clips using the xdcam browser it also does the same thing. as it stands a have so many clips that i am been unable to edit because of this but on the other hand my CS5 recognizes all the clips i import from the ex1r but i perfare editing my clips on final cut. pls i need help

    Have you downloaded the XDCAM plugin for FCP? You should still have to log & transfer the files but be able to work with them in FCP.

    You need to read the instructions for use for the EX1. It is very simple but it won’t work if you don’t know how to do it.

    Yes…download and read the instructions for the Sony XDCAM EX1.

    Thanks Bob, i already have the manual, in fact it came with the camera, but if there is a specific page you would like me to read or look at, i will be glad.

    Thanks a lot Jackie,
    the link was very helpful, but am finding it very hard downloading and installing the xdcam browser,when i downland it on my mac and try to click on it the mac gives me a message that it is unable to expand.. what do i do?

    On the Sony web site there is a whole section on XDCam workflow for FCP. I do not have the link for it. Also, on this forum alone there are multiple threads about how to get XDCam into FCP.

    My point really is that you really can’t expect to be able to do it correctly without instructions.
