    Hey,

I need to take XDCAM HD clips (not EX) and turn them into viewable QuickTime files (with TC) for a producer.

I’m on PC, I have the PDWU1 drive and the XDCAM Browser software 2.0.

Is there a way of making this happen?

You’d need to use Avid or Premiere or a separate transcoding application to create the MOVs on a Windows based system. On the Mac you can use our XDCAM Transfer or XDCAM Browser software to rewrap the MXFs to MOV in the native XD codec. Note that any non-MXF files you need to store on the XD disc have to be placed in the User Data folder. The other folders are restricted.

That’s what I was afraid you were going to say 🙂

I cut on an Avid. I was trying to find a way of not tying up the system. Something that could run in the background. Oh well.
