Wondering if there are any options of which I’m not aware for inexpensive transfer of raw footage when working with others out of state? Working with clients, I usually purchase a mini hard drive and ship QuickTime files to the client who reimburses me the shipping & drive costs. I’ve also had a client ship their drive to me to load and return ship. Though I do have an iDisk account with 10gig capacity, I can only upload an approx. maximum of 500MB without timeouts because of connection speed. And, my workflow is tapeless.

Could there be another low-cost option especially since I have an upcoming no-budget project for a ministry. Footage for these type of projects has always been event or interviews – so the clips are fairly lengthy. The interviews will probably run 15 minutes and need to transfer to me from out of state for editing. I prefer to avoid compressed files if possible though this doesn’t seem feasible. I’m editing a 1920×1080 master.

    Any innovative methods to suggest?
