No XDCAM? Only HDV, DVCPRO HD, MJPEG, PhotoJPEG

Transcoding to most codecs involves quality loss. The question is can you see it and under what circumstances. Whoever the “they” is has VERY LIMITED codec options. Otherwise I’d suggest Apple ProRes for best quality or H.264 for best combination of quality and efficiency depending on the data rate accepted.

In a world where people fret over 35Mbps because many broadcasters want 50Mbps, I can’t imagine dropping to 25Mbps (HDV) because one entity insists on that format. I can’t help but believe such isn’t capable of a higher format especially since they accept DVCProHD. They seriously sound WAY BEHIND modern technology if they’re not accepting XDCAM or AVCIntra formats.
