August 30, 2010 at 1:23 amWhat SDHC card do you have in it?
Make sure the SDHC card is well seated before inserting the Hoodman adaptor.

August 30, 2010 at 11:50 pmYes hoodman 32gb
It’s definately in there very good.
I tried formatting it and it always came up us “ng cannot format” or something I don’t remember. But one time it worked and it once when I started recording it said something like “corrupted please format” -

August 31, 2010 at 1:39 amNext is determine whether it’s the Hoodman adaptor or the Hoodman card.
Do you have another SDHC card you can test to see if it formats in that adaptor?
It doesn’t have to be one you’d actually use.
If such card formats than you know it’s the Hoodman card that is bad.
If the card doesn’t format it’s more likely the Hoodman adaptor is bad. -

August 31, 2010 at 6:58 amI have the SxS 16gb card that came with the ex1r and it works great.
I will test another card later.. (sdhc card)
I heard something about updating firmware fixes the aftermarket card adapter problem?

Only shows the camera slot is OK but that’s not likely the issue.

Test in Hoodman adaptor.

This is NOT a firmware issue if adaptor and card worked previously. Something failed.

October 11, 2010 at 2:33 amForgot about this post… sorry!
I went back to the store “pro video and tape” where I bought my EX1r and they have been trying to figure out the problem…
First they gave me a new sxs adapter, and everything worked fine until the last 10 minutes of recording time… It said “media error please reformat” or something similar I cant remember.
Then they tried a new card and adapter on another ex1r with firmware version 1.0 and everything worked perfect then they upgraded that firmware to 1.10 and are having the same problem as me.
Now they ordered a Sony sxs adapter and we will see how things turn out.

July 18, 2011 at 3:50 amHi guys,
Not sure if anyone still reading this thread, but i’ll take a chance. I have a similar problem with my EX1R. I make a shooting, say 1920/50i or 1920/25P (I’m in PAL area) then I use Sony adapter to copy files to hard drive. But I can’t play or read movie by any Windows means. I also have Adobe creative suite CS5 installed and my Adobe Bridge sees the file but also can’t open it. If I import the file into Premierre or After Effects it works just fine. But it’s a bit inconvenient being not able to browse first (at least with Bridge) thru files before actually importing into Premierre or After Effects. Any ideas, please?
