  fcp only displays 30secs of ex3 (mp4) footage

  hi guys,

  i have downloaded the quicktime plugin from the mac-website, and now am able to import and edit those mp4s nicely BUT: when importing to fcp or opening in QT it “pretends” the file is only 30secs long – when opening in AE i get the whole file. i don´t want to convert all the files! help please…

  Hi,

  It looks like you’ve installed our Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import for OSX component which allows native importing and editing of XDCAM EX MP4 files within Final Cut Pro. The DEMO MODE limitation is only showing up to 30 seconds of media – you would have to purchase a Software License in our online store to remove the DEMO MODE limitation here;

  Otherwise – you would have to download and install the free XDCAM Transfer application to re-wrap MP4 files to MOV to import into FCP – the moderators on this forum can direct you where to download XDCAM Transfer and how to use it.
