EX3 rolling shutter?
Was shooting a client’s EX3 yesterday, and one scene called for an over the shoulder of an actor watching a TV…it just happened to be an old CRT TV. I was surprised by the picture on the TV rolling. As we were shooting 24p, I tried adjusting the shutter, clear scan and whatever else I could think of. No joy. Finally decided it was a CMOS issue and told the director he would need to fix it in post by replacing the picture. Did a lock down and moved on.
24 hours later, now I’m wondering if I could have switched the camera to interlace and pulled it off, or would the result have been the same?
Any thoughts?
