How do I control the time remap value of an animation of a leg that nested inside a walk cycle?

I tried this expression on the leg but it doesn’t work:
    comp(“container”).layer(“teen”).effect(“leg1”)(“Slider”)

It’s like it’s not interpreting the expression as the animation takes place.

    ideas?

Tough to say because you’ve provided almost no information about how your project is set up — but I’d guess that you need to precomp everything in the leg animation except the time-remapping. In other words, you need to take your animated leg comp, nest that inside a new comp, apply time-remapping to the precomped layer within the new comp, then link it its value back to the container control.

I’ll try and explain what I’m doing.

The guys legs are supposed to grow over time during his walk cycle….so.

    container>walkCycle>legGrowthAnimation

walkCycle is timeremapped to loop. This is also where the slide control is but change the slide control value from 0 to 100, the legGrowthAnimation isn’t progressing. It just stays stuck on the first frame.
