    I’m working on a movie, that has been shot on the 5D. I saw some compression artifacts here and there, but until this shot it wasn’t a big problem.

    So behind the actors, the background is a gradient orange wall. After some contrast adjustments, it looks like this:

    What I tried: Remove Grain plugin, NeatVideo, Re:Vision De:Noise.
    All helped a bit, but I’m open to any advice for a better solution.

    Try to use 5DtoRGB befor AE for accurate subsampling decoding. In AE you can try to add feathering to this gradient. Do not use cinemastyle while shooting. And use Magic Lantern to increase bitrate in 5D. And you can make a still or freeze frame over this gradient if possible. And of course NeatVideo and Nuke 6.3 denoiser.
