    Hi,

    Need to download footage from the ex1 to my laptop (pc).
    Using premiere pro and after effects, do I need a plugin or
    anything like that?

    You need the SxS drivers that come with the camera or you can download here:

    https://www.sony.ca/promedia/drivers.htm

    and the latest version of CS4.

    Hi Simon,

    I’m not a Windows or a Premiere user but I did watch a friend transfer some footage shot in HDV mode from my EX to his desktop PC via USB and he didn’t need any plugin. He had the latest update to Premiere Pro CS3 and my EX appeared as a device on his desktop. Then he started Premiere and imported the files. Just like that. The fact that I had shot in HDV mode might have had something to do with it but I’m not sure.
