  Sony CineAlta – G5 w/ FCP 5 workflow

  I need to edit a short film shot with Sony F900R in 1080 24p.

  Hardware: G5 w/DeckLink HD & G-Tech HDD
  Software: FCP 5

  Because of the budget, we are not planning to go back to the tape once digitized. What’s the best quality possible for this set up? Any advices on which compression I should use and which deck I should rent would be appreciated!

  I’d go ProRes HQ 1080/24p if the DeckLink and your machine can handle it. Should look great.
