[Peter Hitchcock] “I want to be ale to color correct at a reasonable price. “

Since you want the price to be reasonable then your only option would be a Matrox MXO and Apple 23″ Cinema HD display. I don’t think the Apple 30″ is on the Matrox list of supported Monitors. Yet. There’s just been an MXO hardware update so the 30″ may now be supported.

In case you’re not aware, the Matrox MXO allows Apple users to colour grade on, among others, a 23″ Cinema display.

For myself, my main monitor is an Apple 30″ and secondary is the 23″.

I’d consider the MXO/ACD method to be the barest minimum for color accuracy. And take the time to calibrate everything properly. There’s nothing worse than a client complaining about the look of a finished project and you have plenty of good excuses to give them for it. 🙂

Thanks Noah saw your ex1 video on the net (nab super meet). Is your info on the ex1 a guidebook or DVD?

Thanks Don I believe I can run the 30 ” from my Kona3. Yes i read your info on one of the lists. How does it look compared to a Broadcast monitor??

I am still looking for that perfect broadcast lcd monitor 1080p/2k.

Any other 2k monitors out there for basic color correction SDI input?

I’d like my suite to be able to handle the RED 2 k camera as well as the EX1.

Please give us a few names.

    Thanks a bunch-Peter

The EX1 Guidebook is a 3 hour video course on DVD covering
complete camera operations and then metadata management and post-production. And so far we’re doing pretty well with it. 🙂

I would recommend the 24” broadcast monitor model number PBM-142 from Plura Broadcast, Inc.
Very good price and loaded with features at no additional cost
Support is great local in Irvine, CA and Long Island, NY
Professional company to deal with, i ordered one and got it the next week.
