  • Unable to import XDCAM EX .mxf clips into Sony Vegas 8.0b

I used Sony’s XDCAM EX Clip Browsing software to import video files from my XDCAM EX camera onto my computer hard drive and to convert them to .mxf files.

I easily was able to import these imported .mxf files into Adobe Premiere CS3, but Sony Vegas 8.0b (my preferred NLE) just doesn’t see them (i.e., won’t import them). I have enabled XDCAM Explorer within Vegas. The clips were taken at HQ 1080/30P.

I have wasted several hours trying to get Vegas to recognize these files – without luck. All my web browsing and Vegas Help references suggest I have done everything correctly.

    Help!

I (finally) was able to solve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas.

    Thanks for your interest.
