  convert xdcam hd to edit in sd on old avid

  We’re shooting a few shows on a 350 xdcam for a client who wants to edit them on an older avid system. Media Composer meridien, I think. We want to shoot in 1080i60 but the edit will be in standard def. anyone have a workflow for converting the mxf files into SD quicktimes that the avid will like. Obviously we could downconvert all the footage to beta Sp tapes and then ingest into the avid but the digital way might be nicer.

  can compressor do this, or telestream episode?

  One easy for sure way is to switch the camera to SD as it shoots SD too.

  Yes but are those dvcam files that it records going to be able to import and edit in the avid?
