Ex rain gear, mic mount, and shoulder mount
Posted by Mike James on January 5, 2008 at 12:58 amDoes anyone know if a company has come out with the EX rain gear, mic mount, or a shoulder mount yet?
Thanks!

January 5, 2008 at 4:54 pmI just bought a wireless receiver bracket from Bracket 1. The bracket is designed for the Z1 and similar cameras, so the clearance is a bit tight, but it works fine.

Thanks!

January 6, 2008 at 8:00 pmI just had a look for shoulder mounts, this one seems very nice and very affordable.

[Mark Palmos] “this one seems very nice and very affordable.”
It certainly is affordable, but I’d try before buying as I’m not sure bracing on the chest wouldn’t result in too much breathing instability, particularly if you were rushing around.
I’d think that this is the probably one of the best, but it ain’t nearly as affordable and would more call for a zoom controller which from what I gather from a few posts here wouldn’t be such a bad thing:

youre right, i should try it first, what i like about it is its simplicity, no need to strap up, so changing from that position to using the ON camera handle to do hand held tracking shots would be easier with the mount quicker to remove… theres a broadcast show coming up in london next month, perhaps there will be some to try out.

January 21, 2008 at 12:00 amI found a new shoulder brace being made by Studio 1 Productions that is specifically for the EX-1.

I called them on Friday and they said it will work with most video cameras. The DVD called Mastering the Sony PMW EX-1 also shows this shoulder brace in use.

nice…
if you use your right eye.
i use, and only feel comfortable using my left eye, much faster at composing quickly and “seeing” things with.
i guess the ex1 eyepiece placement is really for right eyed people use lefties need to do optical chopstix
