  Canon 7D SD footage shot 60i to 30i?

  I recently shot some SD footage on a Canon 7D at 60i. When I drop it into Premiere CS4 for an SD project, the footage looks a bit soft.
  Is that due to the 60i mixing in a 30i time line?

  Do I somehow need to convert that? If so, can I do it in AE? If so, how?

  It could be that Premiere is interpreting the fields incorrectly. Try checking the settings by selecting the clip in the project window and right-clicking and go to modify>interpret footage. Try changing the field order and see if that fixes it.

  60i and 30i are two (confusing) names for the same thing: interlaced video with 29.97 frames per second and 59.94 fields per second.
