A few weeks ago, the Phoenix chapter of IFP, Independent Feature Project, held a 48 hour film challenge. On a Friday evening at 6:30pm, 28 teams of filmmakers were given a line of dialog “Where’d you get those pants?”, a prop (binoculars) and a genre (horror/sci-fi, comedy, action, drama) and were given 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a 3 minute movie. Troy and a team of 8 or so people, won the award for top film “Silhouette” over all of the other entries. I believe they used a JVC HD-100 and it looked pretty darn good blown up on the 23 foot screen in the theater on awards night. Great job, boys and girls.

Thanks Steve. We did use the JVC for all the footage. We planned on using the XDCAM F350 for some over cranked shots but ran out time. 48hr is just not enought time so half of the challenge is just finishing.
