I’m working on a how-to document where each step is illustrated with a graphic. I have my document set up so the text flows in a frame covering the left half of the page. The graphics are located in the right half of the page, each as an Anchored Object so that as the text grows or shrinks the graphics remain in place.

After the text for a step is completed I enter several carriage returns so that the next step’s graphic will appear beneath the previous graphic. But this seems inelegant. Is there a way I could have the next section of text (and its graphic) automatically follow some set distance beneath the previous graphic’s bottom?

I’m an InDesign novice, I know just enough to make my simple documents I’ve already gone way past my previous experience already by going into this Custom Position territory.

Screenshots of my docment layout and the Custom Anchor settings…
