  Importing Illustrator file to After Effects

  So I was trying to make a reversed shatter text effects (following a video tutorial).
  It told me to make text in Illustrator. Then turning on the outline so I could slice up the text into different layers. Then I saved it and imported it to After Effects. But to my suprise the file was cropped to 50×600-ish and was completely black. I could still select the layers and see that the selections boxes wwhere in place. I have tried saving the Illustrator file in CS4 (same as my After Effects) but that didn’t work. I haven’t come to think to anything else that could fix it. So I turn myself to you. 🙂

  Sounds to me as though the text is black and you’re viewing it on a black background.

  What happens when you click the transparency switch in the Comp window?

  The file from Illustrator should come in with alpha intact and you should be able to see the artwork.

  that did the trick and fixed the size somehow thank you :)!
