Can I work with native RED files in AE CS5? Or do I have to upgrade to CS5.5 for that feature?

Thanks for any info you can give me!

Yes, you can use RED (R3D) files in After Effects CS5.

There were a lot of changes for RED in the updates to After Effects CS5, so make sure that you’ve installed the updates.

Yes, I’m running the latest AE CS5. I’m going to be working with my first R3D files on a really rush project, so I was hoping for that answer!

    Thanks Todd!

I’ve installed all the updates but still keep getting a ‘unsupported file’ error, i’ve been checking out other forums and most are leading me to believe I need to upgrade to at least 5.5.. What could the issue be in CS5?

What camera are you trying to use files from?

Scarlet and Epic files can’t be opened in CS5 applications. There was an experimental Labs plug-in for CS5.5 applications. That functionality is built into CS6 applications.
