  HD-SDI Chase Play with HyperDeck Studio or other options

  I am feeding HD-SDI signal from a main hall to another floor. The two floors are connected with HD-SDI, however, the secondary floor needs to have a ability to delay the start playback for at least 5 mins, then playback while the recording is still going.

  When we’re in SD, we used to just feed the signal through a DVR and do a chase play. Can the HyperDeck be used for this? Support staff says the HyperDeck does not support chase play. Any suggestion on gear to do this with HD-SDI will be greatly appreciated.

  Softron OTAV (OnTheAir Video, $1995) + Movie Recorder ($995) + HD option ($995), can do that. This does not include the hardware (Mac). This is a full mini-broadcast, playlist management, recording and playback scheduling system.

  I believe GV T2 DDR (about $12K) can do that too, as do most other broadcast replay systems.
