We are currently using Decklink SDI/Studio capture cards to down-convert and capture 1080i -> SD in ProRes LT using Media Express. For a few new locations we’re thinking of using Mac Mini’s with the UltraStudio 3D over thunderbolt but I’m not certain if it allows for the same input processing options.

Can someone that owns an Ultrastudio 3d tell me if there’s an option to downconvert 1080i to SD in the dropbox list under input processing in system preferences?

    Much appreciated!

For anyone that may be interested. We have picked up an us3d for testing, and I can confirm that it does support all the same input processing options as the DeckLink SDI PCIe card.

I just got my Ultrastudio 3d and I see the option. However when I switch to down-convert using Input processing, then go to capture a 5 second piece, it still appears to be capturing at full 1080i. Is there something I’m missing?
