    Hi,

I have two Sony NX5U’s going into an ATEM tvs that is feeding SDI out into my Decklink SDI capture card. I was super excited about this set up until I realized that the file sizes that this produces are gigantic. I know, I know – I should have seen it coming. Is there anyway for me to capture SMALLER files? Even when I use Premiere’s capture interface, I am still getting huge file sizes.

    Thanks for any help!

If you are using Premiere on a PC then you can choose DVCPro HD or MotionJPEG as compressed solutions. On the Mac you can chose DVCPro HD.

The files are large because they are being captured uncompressed. So choosing a compressed project setting will reduce the file size to approximately 1/10th the uncompressed size (give or take).

    Sincerely,
