We’ve come across something that requires a bit of thought.
We recently purchase a second Black Magic Deck Link SP card (#2). (The cards are no longer made-we bought it used)

We’re using the cards in Mac G5s, the exact cable with identical software under identical compression rates (In this case 10 bit uncompressed).

We compared the waveform outputs and noticed that card #2 gives results that are “hotter” than the one in our other G5.

Theoretically all cards should be the same although I’m sure it’s possible that there could be discrepancies in color temperature or saturation due to uneven aging of analog components on the DeckLink cards.

I’m unclear as how to proceed. We’ve adjusted some software levels on card #2 and they match up with our original card pretty well.
Additionally we have a third card but have not set it up yet on a recently purchased G5.
I’m assuming that checking the 3rd card may provide other clues as well, particularly if it matches the first, original card.

My bigger question concerns whether the cards differ right out of the box.
If so should we simply adjust the software settings and match them?

    Any advice is most appreciated.
