  • SDI HD black output only on Decklink Extreme 3D

    Hi there,

About 2 weeks ago, I’ve installed a Decklink Extreme 3D on a Mac 8 core with 8GB RAM, running Mac OS 10.6.3, Final Cut Studio 2 and with the Blackmagic 7.6 drivers.
The board worked well for about a week but after that it only shows black from its SDI output.
The monitor ( Panasonic Broadcast 17′ ) shows it is getting a 1080p input but it is always black.
After talking on the fone with Blackmagic support, I’ve followed his suggestions and more:
-Changed the slot the board was installed
    -Upgraded the OS to 10.6.4
    -Upgraded to Final Cut 7
-Upgraded the Blackmagic drivers to 7.6.3
    -Checked the monitor settings
    -Checked the SDI cable
-Checked Final Cut Blackmagic easy setup, Final Cut display setup, etc
-Checked the Blackmagic setup on System Preferences, by the way when I check the 444 option the board sends a green output to the monitor ( I know it is not to be checked as I’m monitoring HD 422, but it shows that in some way the board is working.
-Tried the RGB outputs from the board and they are sending a black HD signal (the monitor detects it)
-Last but not least, I did read the manual again.

My instincts tell me that must be some config on Final but I just can figure…

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Evandor,
Any luck sorting this out? I seem to have the exact same symptoms. I’ll keep plugging away but let me know how you resolved the issue.

    Hi TJ,
seems like the board was defective. we sent it back to the vendor in Rio and they are going to send us a new one. when you install the board on the 4th pci slot as recommended on the manual, the board’s cooler gets obstructed.. IMHO this could have caused the problem.
